Eminem Talks Profanity & Parenting

Eminem is seen in the interview at the eighteenth Annual MTV Movie Awards on May 31, 2009 in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -

Though his numerous chart-topping albums are branded with parental advisory warnings, Eminem says he keeps it clear at home.

The Grammy Award-winning hip hop star sat down with CNN`s Anderson Cooper for a "60 Minutes" interview that will air on Sunday, and revealed that his family life as a father varies greatly from his public persona.

"Profanity around my home? No," Eminem tells Anderson, when asked if his very life vocabulary mimics that of his records. "I`m not saying there`s not glimpses of me in the music, [that] there`s not truth in_things that I say, but this is music, this is my art."

The "Honey The Way You Lie" rapper has a daughter, Hailie, 14, with ex-wife Kim Mathers, and is also bringing up Lainey, the girl of Kim`s sister, and Whitney, Kim`s daughter from a previous relationship.

"I`m a parent. I have daughters," he said. "I mean, how would I really sound, as a person_walking around my house [saying] `Bitch, pick this up,` you love what I mean?

"I don`t cuss," he added.

When asked if he feels a smell of duty as a role model to young fans who could be swayed by his often profanity-laced lyrics, the rapper responded, "I look like it`s your job to parent them. If you`re the parent, be a parent."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Eminem has been very clear about his fight with addiction to pills, as chronicled on his most recent album, "Recovery."

"The things I was putting in my body, my tolerance got so high," Eminem told Access Hollywood`s Billy Bush in an exclusive interview in June. "I got to the place where I couldn`t even count how many pills I was taking_ I think I actually had to pass down, reach deep blue and looking at myself and see this is my fault, like, take responsibility for the way I`m living and stop blaming other people."

Catch the new full consultation with Eminem when it airs on "60 Minutes" on Sunday, October 10, at 7 PM on CBS.
